Upcoming Training
Details of our upcoming training sessions are as follows:
Makaton
Our Makaton courses are delivered by an accredited Makaton tutor and provide the quality you would expect as well as covering the specific link to the profile associated with Down syndrome.
All of our training courses include an overview on the evidence for using Makaton with children who have Down syndrome and the benefits for learning new words.
Level 2
This workshop is recommended for parents/carers who wish to expand their use of Makaton with their family at home, as well as for staff in educational, healthcare and leisure settings who want to learn more to help interact with children and adults who use Makaton. The Level 2 workshop:

Builds on the knowledge gained in the Level 1 training (you must have attended a Level 1 workshop previously to attend the level 2 workshop).

Covers the signs and symbols from stages 3 and 4 of the core vocabulary and the rest of the additional vocabulary.

Includes a certificate and workshop manual, which includes the Makaton symbols and signs that you learn in the workshop.
2 x half-day course:
Monday 7th March & Monday 28th March from 09:30-13:00
